산타모니카의 화창한 휴일 오후 일본의 진주만 습격 소식이 날아들고 케이(Kay: 골디 혼 분)는 남편 잭(Jack: 에드 해리스 분)이 해군으로 참전하게 되고 맥브리이지 공장 노동자로 일하게 된다.

In 1941 America Kay and her husband are happy enough until he enlists after Pearl Harbor.
Against his wishes, his wife takes a job at the local aircraft plant where she meets Hazel, the singer from across the way the two soon become firm friends and with the other girls become increasingly expert workers.
