아이를 잃은 상처를 지닌 마치코는 시골의 한 요양원에서 노인들을 보살피는 일을 시작한다.
시게키라는 노인을 눈 여겨 보던 마치코는 그를 아내 마코의 무덤이 있는 숲으로 데려다 주기 위해 길을 떠난다.
하지만 사고로 차가 움직일 수 없게 되고, 마치코가 도움을 구하러 마을에 간 사이 시게키가 사라진다.
시게키를 찾아 헤매던 마치코는 숲을 향해 가고 있는 시게키를 발견하게 되고 그들은 결국 마코의 무덤에 도착하게 되는데….
